In no particular order, here are four major SEVENTEEN news stories from January:
#1: DxS Debut
DK and SEUNGKWAN debuted the newest SEVENTEEN subunit, DxS! The pair released an EP called Serenade, along with two versions of the “Blue” music video!
In-person promotional activities included a blue-themed pop-up store in Seoul (which was open January 13-20 and featured photo zones, exclusive merch, and more) and a jazz-bar-themed party (“Live In Blue,” a show at CG Art Hall in Seoul on January 18).
To learn about the making of Serenade, check out this series of behind-the-scenes videos!
#2: CxM Shows
Speaking of subunits, MINGYU and S.COUPS continued promoting as CxM. They embarked on the “DOUBLE UP” live tour I detailed in last month’s news recap. The Incheon show was especially epic, with 26,000 attendees, live-stream viewers across 86 countries, a setlist of over 20 songs, and custom Calvin Klein for MINGYU!
Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN announced the end of the “NEW” World Tour. The encore concert will be at Incheon Asiad Main Stadium on April 6 (after Night One on April 4). There WILL be an online live-streaming option!
#3: Fashion & Modeling
SEVENTEEN’s Paris Fashion Week show attendance included SEUNGKWAN at Ami’s, JOSHUA at Prada’s, MINGYU at Dior’s, and THE 8 at Louis Vuitton’s.
DK also proved to be in demand on the modeling front, covering a new issue of W Korea and attending the Australian Open as a special guest of the clothing brand Ralph Lauren!
#4: Circle Chart Announcement
With over 2.5 million copies of HAPPY BURSTDAY sold in 2025, SEVENTEEN notched second place on the Circle Chart’s list of the Ten Best-Selling Albums of the Year! Here’s the full ranking:
Stray Kids, KARMA
SEVENTEEN, HAPPY BURSTDAY
Stray Kids, DO IT
ENHYPEN, DESIRE : UNLEASH
TXT, The Star Chapter: TOGETHER
ZEROBASEONE, NEVER SAY NEVER
IVE, IVE EMPATHY
RIIZE, ODYSSEY
NCT WISH, COLOR
&TEAM, Back to Life
I made a handy chart for visualizing the interesting differences, especially between Stray Kids’ releases on the list (the red columns):
What Else?
DK joined his idols, rock band YB, on stage during their 30th anniversary show!
JOSHUA signed with UTA (United Talent Agency, one of Hollywood’s “Big Three” companies) for acting endeavors!
JOSHUA attended the Golden Globes! (Here’s his “GRWM” video!)
