Junhyeok: Hello! My name is Junhyeok, and I am the “cat coach” of n.SSign!
Sungyun: Hello, my name is Sungyun, and I am the all-rounder of n.SSign.
Robin: Hello, my name is Robin, and I am the rapper with a nice smile from n.SSign.
Hanjun: Hello, my name is Hanjun, and I am the main dancer of n.SSign.
Laurence: Hi, my name is Laurence, and I am the visual of this group!
Huiwon: My name is Huiwon, and I am the cute maknae, the youngest in the group.
What were your first reactions when you learned that n.SSign would officially become a group for the long term, not just a project group?
We were extremely happy and glad [to learn] that we can continue standing and performing [together], in front of fans encouraging and supporting us.
What have your experiences been like pre-debut? What lessons have you learned or what skills have you improved upon since you started pre-debut activities?
After the program Youth Star, we [went from] busking on the streets of Korea to completing the Zepp Tour in five cities in Japan, gradually increasing the number of fans and supporters along the way. We learned that nothing is impossible with effort and hard work. We also learned that nothing is more important than working as a team, and working out solutions to problems as a group [leads] to better and stronger teamwork.
What is your favorite n.SSign pre-release song, and why?
“Salty” is one of our favorite pre-release songs! It was the very first song we filmed a music video for, and we [have] performed [it] many times on stage and received many good reactions from fans.
Please describe your new album, BIRTH OF COSMO, and the reason for that title.
“Cosmo” is the name of n.SSign's official fan club! BIRTH OF COSMO refers to the official debut and birth of n.SSign, as well as the birth of our fans. From the official debut of n.SSign until the end of time, from the far ends of the universe to our hearts, we are connected as one with Cosmo, and we will walk by Cosmo’s side until the end.
How is BIRTH OF COSMO different from your pre-debut music?
Until now, we have been doing very bright songs. Through our debut album, we [are] able to show everyone a never-before-seen, darker concept. Although the title song is dark, there are many different genres packed into the album.
Can you share a “TMI” story from recording BIRTH OF COSMO or from filming a music video for it?
While filming the music video for “Wormhole : New Track,” the floor was sprayed with water for a special effect. It happened to be very slippery and caused a few of us to fall multiple times while filming. Luckily, no one was badly injured, and [we were] able to finish filming.
Did you set any goals for 2023?
Our ultimate goal for this year [is] to win the Rookie Award! It would be a dream come true to obtain this award. We will continue to work hard for this dream.
What are your goals for BIRTH OF COSMO, and what are your goals for n.SSign in the longer term?
As mentioned before, our debut album refers to the birth of n.SSign as well as our fans. We want to become a group that grows and continuously develops with our fans.
Lastly, is there anything else you want to say about your fans or your music?
We have waited for our debut for a very long time. We cannot express our gratitude enough for the fans and everyone else who has waited for our debut. We would like to thank everyone for all the love and support along the way. Although we weren't certain about when we would officially debut, [the support] helped us keep pushing forward and never give up hope. We have prepared a more complete and near-perfect album than [ever] before, so please look forward to our debut album! Once again, we thank each and every individual who has been with us until now.
