Why all eyes should be on Sophie Powers
At just age 21, pop singer/songwriter and fashion designer Sophie Powers is making her mark on both the literal and metaphorical global stages. The musical wunderkind has already worked with Grimes, Dillon Francis, and Baby Tate, among others, and she’s opened for artists including YUNGBLUD and Waterparks. The speed of her rise has been accelerating, from taking a leap of faith in her artistic skills and moving to Los Angeles at age 16 to embarking on a headlining tour last year and joining 2025’s Warped Tour and Slam Dunk Festival lineups.
Besides an exciting sonic evolution - from a more restrained, bubblegum style to a darker and more purposefully chaotic one! - Sophie Powers is one to watch for her expanding footprint in the world of K-pop. In addition to teaming up with girl group ILLIT for a “jellyous” remix, she contributed to one of IVE’s upcoming songs, “GOTCHA.” Plus, she just opened for Charli XCX on the One Universe Festival’s main stage in Seoul.
