Then and now: JIUNG summarized the trajectory of the “HARMONY” album series: The series started out with a “DISHARMONY” theme, with a darker sound and lyrics about the fight to break free of stereotypes. Now, they have broken free, and the “HARMONY” era is their way of showing it through a brighter energy.
Upcoming shows: When asked what they are most excited to perform live during their upcoming shows in Canada and Latin America, THEO picked “Follow Me,” because it never fails to get a very enthusiastic reception.
Where their confidence comes from: JONGSEOB reflected on how far the group has come and credited their continuous improvement to their ever-increasing amount of shows. Their experience has made them better performers and therefore more confident ones.
Fashion faves: Multiple members gushed about the fashion during the “Back Down” era, especially the Diesel outfits. INTAK also mentioned liking a clean-cut, dressy look, and SOUL said he loved his hat!
Pre-show rituals: KEEHO said before every concert, he likes to ensure he is in “perfect condition,” preparing his vocal chords with warm-ups and a pre-show shower.
Self-care: The members stressed the importance of taking time to do things that simply make them happy. The example INTAK gave was watching videos, and JIUNG mentioned beading, fishing, and traveling solo.
Writing as therapy: KEEHO said what helps him through tough times is to journal about them, then read over his thoughts from a “third-person perspective.”
Leaning on each other: SOUL’s response to the question “What do you do for self-care?” was to have KEEHO sit next to him while he plays video games! SOUL is comforted by having someone beside him to watch him win! SOUL also said he finds comfort in listening to piano instrumentals.
Not overthinking it: THEO said his form of self-care is simply pursuing what brings him joy and quickly abandoning projects that do not! He said he’s quick to realize what he is and is not good at; he knows himself well.
“More Than Words”: JIUNG replied to 17 Carat K-Pop’s question about which new song is or will likely become a fan favorite. He said “More Than Words” seems to have touched fans the most.
The meaning of “More Than Words”: KEEHO explained that this song is a celebration of the countless ways people can express love for each other besides directly saying the word “love.” Even the smallest gesture of appreciation can speak volumes.
Making “More Than Words”: Since the afrobeat-inspired sound was new to P1Harmony, JONGSEOB said it’s the song on which he spent the most time. His part for this song underwent more revisions than his part for any of the other new tracks, and he found it fun but challenging to mix his signature style with a different-for-them sound.
Staying open to evolving…: JONGSEOB implied that P1Harmony’s next era will not be another series. Instead, the group hopes to experiment more with each future album, not feeling conceptually limited in any way.
… while honing in on their strengths: Although the group does want to keep experimenting with their sound, INTAK said each member is finding and utilizing their signature musical strengths.
Good vibes only: KEEHO reiterated that although past P1Harmony eras were full of “hidden messages” and ambiguities, he hopes that fans do not read too much into the meaning of this one. He wants fans to just enjoy the most feel-good, lighthearted offering in the “HARMONY” series!
Advice to their younger selves: JIUNG told himself to loosen up and go with the flow, and SOUL told himself to stay in school, emphasizing that even the smallest efforts go a long way in doing well academically!
What’s next: Through all their responses, the group made a few of their goals evident: stay willing to try new things, embrace who they are, and spread hopeful messages to listeners!
