Get to Know LimJi!

LimJi on her favorite tattoo, her newest single, her favorite song cover, and more!

For those who are unfamiliar with your music, how would you describe it to them? How would  you finish the sentence, “LimJi is ___” or “LimJi’s music is ___”?  

LimJi's music is easy and relaxed. There are no super-high notes, and the tempo is medium, mostly.  

Please describe your new single, “SO BAD”!  

This song is about a man who is so hot and super-beloved, but the speaker [can’t] get that guy, so she is always suffering from it. 

Can you share a “TMI” story from the making of the “SO BAD” music video?  

We filmed the full [music video] in a day, so every step felt exhausting. [Also,] I just met the actor [and our first scene was the] kidnapping, lol.

The “SO BAD” music video is like a scene from a movie! Where did you come up with  the idea for the music video? Did anything in particular inspire your video character?  

Just [my] imagination! When I thought about my character, I decided, "Just do it!"  

Please share some information about each of these songs:

“Q&A”: This song is about a man who follows me everyday, everywhere. [I am] uninterested, but [my] mind is changed over time.  

“Call Up”: [During a] lonely time, I checked my phone, but nobody contacted me. So I felt cold, but I wanted to be anyone's companion, so [I] just said, "Call up."  

“What’s Your Color?”: My appearance was not normal. I hated the way somebody judged me. I [thought I] should talk to them: "Don't judge me. What's your color? I don't care!"  

Any other song you want to talk about: My new songs will be released soon, so I want to talk about them then. :)  

How do you decide which songs to cover? 

When I hear a good song, I just hum along. I find the [instrumental] or take out my guitar.

Out of all of the songs you have covered so far, which one are you the most proud of or recommend the most?  

JENNIE’s “SOLO.”

Do you treat your musical persona as separate from who you are in daily life?  

I think they look like twins. Sometimes [they are] similar, but my daily life almost seems like an athlete’s. 

Can you explain some of the meanings of your tattoos? Which one is your favorite?  

My clavicle tattoo is part of my bestie’s song's lyrics (JAMIE’s “Stay Beautiful”). The others are just pretty or precious things, so I love all my tattoos.  

Lastly, is there anything else you want to say about your music?  

I need more love and support, so I'll make my songs better than before. Please look forward to [new music]. Thank you a lot.
