A Quick Q&A with OoOo
OoOo shares fun facts about her songs and her plans to go between releasing emotional and chill music.
For those who have not heard your music before, how would you describe it to them? How would you finish the sentence “OoOo is __” or “OoOo’s music is ___”?
"OoOo can't be defined." I recommend listening to it rather than [having me explain my music], because it is attractive to do various [songs] without deciding on genres.
Do you remember how and when you first became inspired to become a singer?
I just wanted to express my thoughts. I [also] wanted to be a photographer and video director.
Please describe your newest single, “Alone (2023),” and how it differs from “Alone” from 2020.
My vocal skills improved [from] more than two years ago, so I really wanted to record it again, because it's a song that I cherish. I also prepared a music video that I planned [in 2020 and] couldn't film at the time.
Please share a fun fact about each of these songs:
“Inevitable”: If CIKI didn't participate in the song, it would have been abandoned without being released.
“How About You?”: I [photographed] the cover art.
“with you”: A song that was made in a month, in a hurry, for Christmas.
“Fantasy”: I think "Fantasy" is a song that's a little different from my usual self.
What are the biggest similarities and differences between Citymare, Cityzone and There Are Things That Cannot Be Filled with Anything: 5things?
[They are both] about loneliness and scars from relationships. The genres are different, and I tried to work with emotional sounds in There Are Things That Cannot Be Filled with Anything: 5things and cooler sounds in Citymare, Cityzone.
Do you prefer releasing singles or longer projects, and why?
I'm preparing a [new] single. I feel a little bored when I don't release a [single because I’m working on] a longer project.
What are your short-term and long-term career goals?
I'm thinking of continuing to release singles, and I'll come back with emotional albums in 2023 and more hip albums in 2024.
Lastly, is there anything else you want to say about yourself or your music?
I want more people to listen to my music and love it. I love you. Thank you.
